Client Experiences

I worked alongside Dr. Adonius Lewis for two years. During that time, he cultivated my coaching skills, deepened my content knowledge, and strengthened my leadership lens. Dr. Lewis helped me plan and execute change management systems, district professional development sessions, and taught me how to implement a data-driven model in my district. He has continually pushed me. I also found it most impactful when Dr. Lewis modeled building walkthroughs with school leadership teams as it helped us to all shape our lenses and ensure we were maximizing the highest leverage moves to drive system changes. Dr. Lewis' feedback was always direct, explicit, and supportive. Thanks for everything!

Jennifer Ligon

School Director at Educare Early Childhood Center

Dr. Lewis helped our school prioritize a cohesive coaching cycle that gave teachers capacity to improve their instruction and allow for their development and enhanced student outcomes. …I found it extremely helpful that Dr. Lewis provided our team with tools to think strategically about how we were organized, and how we identified the biggest rock to improving results at our school. The video analysis protocol was also extremely helpful in allowing us to build our collective coaching lens.

Michael Carter

Executive Director & School Leader, KIPP OKC

The past couple of years have been a transformative experience. My one-on-one coaching meetings were introspective, encouraging me to identify and leverage my inherent strengths while also addressing my areas of growth. I appreciated this so much as a new school leader. Strategic planning was a game changer for me as I prepared for the school year. I began the year with very clear priorities, goals, and a plan to execute. Also, the supportive accountability to execute with fidelity pushed me to be consistent.
l feel this experience sharpened my skills and effectiveness. Dr. Lewis focused on my specific needs and challenges, fostering growth through self-awareness and reflective practices. Also, my pedagogical and instructional acumen increased tremendously. I grow as a leader each time I am able to connect with Dr. Lewis.

Meet Dr. Adonius Lewis

Greetings! I am on a mission to normalize equitable student outcomes in schools serving historically marginalized communities. I founded Excel Learning LLC to support the development of more leaders after leading a Title I middle school to perform in the top 1% of the state for multiple years as principal. Since then, I have worked hand-in-hand to accelerate the development of dozens of emerging, new, and novice leaders.
